Premiere: Tommy Vercetti – Another Day [Griffintown Records]

Tommy Vercetti serves up his thrilling new Never Say Never EP on underground favourite Griffintown Records.

This is an alias of Tom Cox, a UK artist who has released music on tastemaking labels like ANOTR’s No Art, Prunk’s PIV, Boogeyman and Kerri Chandler’s Madtech Records. He was a resident at Fabric in London in 2019 and has since played all over Europe, the US and Australia. His sound is rooted in classic disco and house but always forward thinking.

Never Say Never kicks off with thumping house drums and whirring synths up top. It’s a full flavour cut full of groove with lush chords bringing an early West Coast tech house feel. Another Day is more driving but just as deep and warm. The chords are balmy as they smear all round the mix over slick drums. It’s a futuristic house sound that oozes effortless style.
