Reading-based producer Wodda steps up to deliver two fresh minimal cuts for the Metafloor Records imprint. The young producer has been making waves in the minimal scene of late, and has been turning the heads of fellows DJs and established industry stalwarts alike with his energising and wavy, dub-influenced compositions.
Title track ‘Dutchie’ is a bouncy, minimal groover with a fresh mix of melodic stabs, futuristic organ melodies garnishing a nifty, yet subtle, bassline.
‘Apex’ veers into darker territory with powerful drum groove, layered over the cool dark ominous synth textures and donks scattered throughout the track. Another rising star James View is on remix duties, and delivers an avalanche of peak-time, bass-filled goodness. This is a real bona fine party anthem which is already started to destroy the dance floors where it has been dropped.
‘Alkalis’ is a track made for clubland with Wodda’s signature, driving drums, distinctive lead synth sounds and chunky 909 snare fills are washed with subtle dreamy pad sounds to create a perfect tool for those later sets.
Both Wodda and James View are adept at making dance floor bangers and this record is no exception. You can bet your bottom dollar these gems will be sneaking their way into DJ sets well into 2023.
