Premiere: Lucas Alexander – King K (M-High Remix) [Moxy Muzik]

Moxy Muzik hits release number 12 with more rugged and essential house sounds, this time with Lucas Alexander at the helm and John Ciafone (one half of legendary Mood II Swing) and M-High hot off the back of his release on PIV on remix duties.

Lucas Alexander is no ordinary artist. With a mixture of heritage from Wales to Jamaica, the fusion of his upbringing with his own personal style is truly unique. He has since played everywhere from Croatia to Thailand, London to Ibiza, and the iconic DC-10. Now, after a musical hiatus, he is unveiling a whole host of killer new tunes that take in a wide sphere of reference.

King K is super heavyweight house with rubber kicks and firing synths. The frazzled bass grows ever louder and vocal stabs add more energy and vibes. It’s a surefire anthem in the making. King K (M-High Remix) is more silky and deep, with fluttering snares and serene pads all getting you into the smooth groove.

Pug Funk then goes a little slower, with warmth in the spacious kicks and room for the groove to really hit home as male vocals and darting pads bring the energy. It is a characterful cut that cannot fail to make a mark. Pug Funk (John Ciafone Remix) then gets you on edge with its chunky drum funk, taught bass and well treated vocals all casting a fine and contemporary house spell.

Last of all, Mic Check shows off Alexander’s garage credentials with a nice skipping beat, more succulent bass and some slick sound designs that make it filled with drama and tension.
