Premiere: Sly Turner – BWU [Andhera Records]

Andhera Records keep us all dancing with a superb first volume of their Winter Sampler series. It is jam packed with heat across 18 tracks from the likes of STES, Attek, Matt Egbert, Shuski, Ken Kelly, Acid Kids and many more and it really shows what this label is all about.

Andhera Records is an NYC based label curated by Ky William and STES. It is well loved for its contemporary minimal house sound and proves why here. Nas Elmes – Don’t You opens up with a superbly slick house groove that has nice soulful vocal stabs and real groove to spare. Ken Kelly then gets more deep and sci-fi with his lush pads and dubby drums and Acid Kids warp your mind with their bendy synths and late night vibes.

Elsewhere there is clean and crisp house from Attek, deep and bubbly affairs from Sly Turner complete with supple acid lines and then more punch, peak time tackle from Drew Dapps that stays classy but ups the energy levels. Jeff Sorkowitz’s Dirty Words is a masterclass in soulfulness thanks to the lush pad work and there is more driving but just as warm material from Pavzo, and Matt Egbert gets you in a nice trance with his heady pads and super futuristic beats.

Add in more super stylish, spaced out beats from Genetikia, Jennings and Full Mindset amongst many more and you have a superbly assembled collection of top shelf house music for real connoisseurs.
