PREMIERE: GAZZ – Like That [Hottrax]

Closing out the year, Hottrax introduces a new name: GAZZ, an emerging talent from England whose music has been steadily gaining momentum across dancefloors throughout 2025. Though early in his production journey, GAZZ has already begun shaping a sound rooted in direct, dancefloor-ready ideas, shaped by a decade spent on the floor himself. His debut on Jamie Jones’ label arrives in the form of ‘Funky’ , a tight two-tracker with a clear sense of purpose and personality. “I wrote ‘Funky’ during the week of the first Paradise Festival in London – I had this vision of Jamie playing it early in his set to lift the energy. I didn’t even know he’d downloaded it, so seeing him actually play it, third track in, was a total surprise. Jamie has been the biggest supporter of my music this year, and when Hottrax told me
they wanted both ‘Funky’ and ‘Like That’ , it felt like everything had come full circle. Jamie was the first house DJ I ever saw live back in 2018, so this release really means a lot to me. ” – GAZZ. Leading with ‘Funky’ , GAZZ delivers a punchy, no-nonsense cut built around a driving bassline, crisp drums, and a
hooky vocal sample, an early-set energiser with plenty of impact. On the flip, ‘Like That’ leans into a slightly rougher swing, pairing rubbery low-end movement with playful vocal chops and sharp percussive details for a lively B-side that’s just as effective in the mix. The EP doesn’t lean on big claims or heavy backstory, but instead shows the way GAZZ thinks about the dancefloor: direct, uncluttered, and built around ideas that land and stick with notable impact.
