Manchester-based DJ and producer Mason Maynard drops his latest two track EP “In Your Eyez” on the highly regarded Whippin imprint from the Mason Collective.
Maynard’s reputation for groove-led productions precedes him, and his recent recognition as one of Tomorrowland’s Ones To Watch in 2022 has only added to his growing popularity. With his latest release, Maynard takes his musical direction to new heights, blending rhythmic Detroit-style electro, hypnotic vocals, and nods to young producers’ NYC and Chicago house influences. Maynard’s previous collaborations with the likes of Green Velvet, Lee Foss, and a massive remix of Elderbrook and Rudimental’s club smash “Something About You” have garnered global adulation. His productions on esteemed labels such as Island Records, Polydor, Ultra, Cajual, Repopulate Mars, Defected, Relief Records, and Hot Creations have gained heavy industry support from industry heavyweights such as The Martinez Brothers, Patrick Topping, Skream, Richy Ahmed, Claude VonStroke, Hot Since 82, and Carl Cox.
Maynard’s live performances have been nothing short of spectacular, from playing in front of 15,000 people in the Hangar at Parklife (for the second year running) to taking the USA by storm with 7 headline tours playing over 40 shows. He has also maintained a strong presence in Ibiza with shows at Hi Ibiza, Solid Grooves (Privilege), and performances at ABODE’s residency at Balearic super-club, Amnesia.
The EP’s opening track, “In Your Eyez,” invites you into a world of sensuality with its mesmerizing vocals and jackin’ swing beats. The bassline weaves through the track like a warm embrace, with the track leaves you feeling electrified.
As you move onto the second track, “NinetySix (Workout Mix),” you’re met with a relentless and powerful percussive drum groove. The synths are perfectly arranged, creating a slick and unyielding soundscape that you can’t help but move to. This track is bursting with energy, driving you forward with each beat, and leaving you feeling unstoppable. It’s a must-have for anyone with a discerning ear and a passion for underground house music.
