Hidde Van Wee – 3AM [NEED]

NEED begins 2023 with an incredible collection titled ‘SELECTS 2023,’ which contains four brilliantly made minimalistic pieces by some of the industry’s most significant names, including Hidde van Wee, Sozef, Special Delivery, and Vedana. The VA opens with ‘3AM’ by Hidde van Wee that focuses on housy drum beat coupled with strong and bounce baseline, along with retro pads and acid riffs. This groove is making you feel outof space, defenitely. The album’s second tune, ‘Saturn 09,’ is delivered by Sozef. The track is built on an extremely groovy and nasty house rhythm that is interwoven with a groovy bassline. Flying synths and delayed vocal chopps give the track extra room. ‘ET 420’ by Special Delivery follows, nicely complementing the VA’s atmosphere. It transports you into a fantastic house dream with its lovely chords and straight house rythm. Venada’s ‘Mimic’ concludes the VA. It begins with a swinging drum loop with some glitches on top, then transforms into a gorgeous bomb when the bass kicks in. The pads and deep athmos lie well on top of the track, adding dimension to your ears.
