Premiere: Prok & Fitch – Source of Energy [Do Not Sleep]

Do Not Sleep is back with another belter and this time dance floor veterans Prok | Fitch are bringing the heat with their new ‘Ruler Of My Mind’ EP.

In the past few years, Prok |Fitch have cemented their position as one of the most respected and successful DJ/productions outfits in electronic music. Regularly cited as one of Beatport’s highest selling artists, their music strikes an appealing balance between melodic intricacy and dance floor heft. When not busy touring the world, this power duo has been gracing top imprints like Circus, Solid Grooves, Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations & Green Velvet’s well respected Relief imprint with their infectious, well calculated sounds.

On the A-side, the title track ‘Ruler Of My Mind’ starts to build from the very first beat, and it does not take long until that familiar Prok | Fitch ‘kick in the chest’ feeling appears. The huge bass line is accompanied by a slick synth loop keeping things heavy and funky, before the vocal cut appears and takes this stormer to the next level.

On the B-side we have ‘Source Of Energy’, and as customary with these lads, this track is as strong as anything. Funky old-school stabs and a clever vocal sample keeps the pace going before the massive rolling bass line takes over the driving seat and puts the pedal to the metal.
